Learning and Development

Learning and development

It’s our aim that everyone working at Castleoak should have the opportunity to develop to reach their full potential.

Colleagues' individual development needs are identified and an appropriate programme designed, which can include both classroom and work-based training.

Every colleague has a minimum of ten development days a year. This is made up of seven days for professional training and other opportunities to learn, such as attendance at industry conferences and seminars, study days, and events connected with professional qualifications and continuous professional development.

The other three days are for colleagues´ own personal development not linked to the job or company. This activity must have a community focus and benefit others as well as to the individual.

Examples include:

  • Training for and participation in fundraising events involving a personal challenge
  • Training for sports coaching and similar qualifications
  • Participation in community projects
  • Leadership roles in voluntary or community organisations for examples a as school governor or local councillor
